By playing or writing a case on Evidence City you agree to what follows.
Cases are played in real streets. You are responsible for your own safety.
Watch the traffic, obey the law, respect private property, and stop if
conditions are unsafe. Nothing in a story is an instruction to enter somewhere
you are not allowed, and no puzzle is worth an injury.
Play with the sense you would use on any walk: mind children in your group,
and do not read your phone while crossing a road.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens
under your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
Some cases cost money. A ticket buys access to that case for your account and
covers everyone playing along with you on it. Payment is handled by Stripe.
If a case is broken and cannot be finished, write to us and we will put it
right — usually a refund or a fix. We do not refund a case simply because it
was completed or found too hard.
If you write a case, you keep ownership of what you write, and you give us
permission to host and show it to players.
You promise that it is yours to publish, that it does not send players
anywhere dangerous, unlawful or private without permission, and that it does
not contain anything illegal, hateful or targeted at a real person.
We can unpublish a case that breaks these rules, and we review submissions
before they go live.
Play fairly. Do not use another account to inflate a score, and do not post a
review of your own case. We can remove entries or reviews that break this.
You can stop using Evidence City whenever you like and ask us to delete your
account. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms.
The service is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it running and
accurate, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable, and we are not
responsible for what happens to you out in the world while playing.
